Gugguu succeeded in Eeti's responsibility report!
On Tuesday 22.9. Eettisen kaupan puolesta RY published its annual report for 2020, which addresses the responsibility reporting and transparency of Finnish clothing brands. In this blog post, we tell you more about the report and Gugguu's ranking.
Eettisen kaupan puolesta ry (Eetti) is a non-governmental organization whose goal is to promote ethical and sustainable global trade and production and to facilitate responsible consumption. In addition to the annual Rank a Brand report, Eetti researches and reports on the responsibility actions and communications of companies in various sectors, trains companies and individuals, and opens up important topics for consumers, from the impacts of financial decisions to consumption habits and problem areas in different sectors.
The 2020 Rank a Brand report evaluated the climate, environmental, and human rights work and transparency of 35 Finnish clothing brands. The brands are divided into five categories (A-E) based on the points they received. A total of 15 companies, or 42% of the evaluated brands, reached the two best categories. These companies scored at least 19 points, with the maximum score being 34. Last year, only one company reached category B.
Gugguu ranked this year in the second best category, category B.

We at Gugguu are very happy with this year's ranking! During 2019, we developed our reporting so that we could offer our customers and other stakeholders thorough information about Gugguu's operating methods and the realization of values in our Responsibility Report published earlier this year. The report details Gugguu's responsibility-related goals and actions. We also published Gugguu's Ethical Principles report, which outlines our principles on ethics and how they are implemented.
It is absolutely important that topics related to responsibility are discussed and reviewed by a third party so that consumers receive fact-based information, making it easier to make responsible purchasing decisions. We are grateful to Eetti Ry for their important work and will continue to develop Gugguu further in the areas of climate, environment, ethics, and transparency day by day in an even better direction.
We also appreciate our customers' awareness of responsibility and the way they make choices based on responsibility. At Gugguu, we will continue to hold on to responsibility and its reporting as a pillar supporting our operations.
