Stories from our customers "Branded clothes in daycare - can they be used?"
As a mother, I have always been very particular about my daughter's clothes' features, quality, and practicality. It is important to me that my child has clothes that are durable and in which she feels comfortable while playing and engaging in everyday activities.
Besides comfort, I like that the garment looks beautiful and neat, and my daughter nowadays seems to appreciate that according to her age level. In addition to these, I consider it especially important that the materials used in children's clothing are safe and approved, and do not contain anything harmful.

In children's outerwear, I have considered usability, waterproofness, abrasion resistance, and warmth as the most important features.
I have tried several brands, but based on experience, one of the two – quality or practicality – has often failed quickly.
I bought the first Gugguu mid-season suit for my daughter when she was about 1 year old. That was also when her daycare journey began, and facing the new situation, I had to think a lot about everything that needed to be acquired for starting daycare.
I had seen pictures and heard good experiences about Gugguu's mid-season outdoor suits, so I decided to buy one to try. At first, I also reserved a spare suit for daycare in case of possible accidents. The spare suit was kept in a separate bag so it would not take up space in the child's locker from the main clothes.
However, when picking up my child, I often encountered the situation where the branded suit I bought was not dared to be put on outside, and my child was dressed in a spare suit brought along at daycare. Similar situations occurred repeatedly. When I kindly asked about it once, the daycare staff said they did not dare to put the “so expensive branded suit” outside to get dirty. Why? After all, the price does not determine whether the garment is of good quality or not.

I discussed with the staff that the waterproofness of this particular suit is greater than that of a mud suit and that its other features are excellent, so it can be worn by my child outside without worry, even though it is a branded garment. That is exactly why I bought the suit, so it can be used. I kindly emphasized that the garment does not need to be treated with special care.
I found it a bit funny that as a mother, I encouraged the daycare staff to be brave in allowing my child to wear a branded garment for outdoor play at daycare.
I must admit, I was initially a bit skeptical about the first snowsuit and wondered if the features of a mid-season suit could really withstand all the autumn activities at daycare and home, sitting in puddles, rain, climbing, sand play, etc., and still remain usable after all the activities. This was completely true, and the condition of the suit was very good even at the end of the autumn season. I managed to sell the suit, which had become too small for us, forward for the next child to use, at a good resale price.

Against winter, our choice again fell on Gugguu's snowsuit. In my experience, the suit was easy to put on, the appearance was pleasant, and in addition, the suit was warm yet still felt light when the child was moving. My child is an active mover, and the suit was very versatile throughout the winter, at daycare and at home. At first, I noticed the same pattern repeating as in the fall.
My child was dressed in a spare overall even though the Gugguu snowsuit was hanging in the child's cubby for outdoor use. Why was the use of branded clothing still hesitated? As I understand it, it was because the garment belongs to a somewhat pricier brand, and therefore they didn't dare to take the risk if the garment got damaged during daycare use.
I told the staff again that possible damage wouldn't bother me and asked that these particular clothes be put on my child in the future because they have been carefully chosen for their quality, features, and usability.
Branded clothes are often resold on social media in online flea markets. I have often come across various discussions and sales posts in children's clothing flea market groups mentioning whether a branded garment has been “just for daycare use” or if it is a garment that has been “used for better occasions.” Outerwear ads may mention “only used as a shopping jacket.” Additionally, people ask if the clothes or even outerwear have stains or other signs of wear.
I have been thinking about how we could change the branded clothing culture towards using them more boldly also in everyday life and daycare, just like other clothes? If we consider the longevity of a garment, in my experience, these high-quality branded clothes last better for recycling from one child to another, if not even to a third.
Today my daughter is 4 years old, and we still use Gugguu. The overalls have been replaced by a jacket and the shirts by dresses, but the trust in the brand has remained. We have fallen in love with the practicality and versatility of Gugguu dresses as indoor clothes.
The clothes are durable and beautiful, and they can be well combined for both everyday wear and celebrations. The color palette of the clothes is delicious and the patterns change. My daughter gets to feel like a princess even at daycare, and I, as a mother, feel confident that the dress is practical and comfortable for the child to wear. Stains at daycare don't matter because these clothes withstand washing. I can recommend this brand's clothes to everyone who values the same things in clothing as I do.

I want my child to be able to play, be busy, and spend time outdoors at daycare carefree and safely. Gugguu is our trusted brand, and our child can and is able to participate in every daily activity wearing clothes from this brand, even at daycare.
A child should be a child — also wearing branded clothes.
Thanking you, Ninni
